DTI Computers was incorporated in March 1994. DTI was started with two locations: at 906 Yates St. in Victoria, and at 9775 4th St. in Sidney. We are now moving into another summer of business at four locations; Victoria, Sidney, Colwood and Oak Bay.

DTI Computers has a set of principles that have made us very successful and our customers very happy.
  1. Give the customers a warranty that is as hassle free as possible.
  2. Provide a friendly environment with the maximum of assistance and information as possible - sale or no sale.
  3. Sell systems that are built on a platform that allows for the most upgradeability.
Principle 1 means that our 3-year parts and 5-year labour warranty (on all of our systems) is through the store, and is not dependent on the manufacturer's requirements. There is no need to ship your computer elsewhere for warranty work, as all the work is done in the shop (excluding monitors and peripherals). We try to make the turn-around time as quickly as possible, often within a day.

Principle 2 has helped DTI develop an 80%+ word-of-mouth sales record. We don't spend a lot of money on advertising, but we spend a lot of time on customer help, system analysis help, and answering questions on anything our potential customers need help with. Our friendly helpful and straightforward atmosphere is what has ingratiated our customers to refer us to their friends.

Principle 3 is important to all of our customers' future needs. We try to build systems with platforms that support the maximum range of processors. For Intel systems, the low-end Celeron processors are placed on a P4 platform capable of running the one of the highest P4 processor. For AMD systems, the Sempron processors and Athlon CPU's are seperate platforms. We try to make sure that the motherboard that we use takes the highest AMD processor. This means that if you buy a low-end system you can upgrade to a high-end system without replacing alot of other components and sometimes just your CPU. Most e-machines, discount machines and $699 specials offered by other companies require motherboard, power supply, onboard video and sound, and processor upgrades when upgrading to future needs. The platforms that their computers are built on are usually of the lowest denominator. We pride ourselves on using a higher denominator.

We like to think at DTI that we are providing not only a good warranty and upgradeability, but also the use of good quality parts and even better service at a very affordable price. Come in to see us and find out for youself.
